    Among my favorite things at Festivities are the silk runners and pillow covers from Southeast Asia. Some are quite old, others are new, but they're all exquisite and very reasonably priced. Plus, believe it or not, they're machine-washable and come out looking like new! 

The buyers at Festivities have a great eye (and touch) for linens and fabrics in general. When you are thinking about buying, be sure to ask the store personnel about the merchandise. They're all very knowledgeable and you'll walk out with something you not only love, but know the history of. I would never have known I could wash the runner I picked up there if I hadn't gotten the background from them.

    I love FESTIVITIES FINE GIFTS...this store is amazing! They have everything from Chillewich mats(love 'em) to gorgeous art and fine furniture. It's just right on Main street in Edmonds next to the post office...stop in and check it out.

    I had a wonderful experience when shopping at Festivities. When walking around the store, whether you have an idea of what you are looking for or not, you can see the thought that has been put into each item. The girls are very welcoming and never without humor. This makes your experience a fun, but calming one, that is not always found when shopping. The only problem is finding something you cannot justify buying. Every treasure in the store was picked for a reason, not just to fill up space. Although the unique shop carries many things from all over the world, they have made the shop flow and not feel cluttered. If you are looking to redo you bedroom or living room one day and then need a quick, perfect gift for a special occasion another day, Festivities Fine Gifts is the place for you. Edmonds is a great place to spend an afternoon and Festivities is in the heart of downtown Edmonds.

    Festivities is such a gorgeous store, and I'm always made to feel so welcome, it's a shame I can't just move in. Every time I go there I find ten things I've never seen anywhere else that I must have, and the stylish gals who own the shop are a true delight to shop with. I'm all done with the big, impersonal stores like Masins--I'm having Festivities custom-make my next sofa, and soon enough my house in West Seattle will look nearly as fabulous as the store. Great service from fabulous proprietors, amazing and unique merchandise.

Festivities is all of this and more-really gorgeous pieces for indoors and outdoors, great gifts and a very special touch when choosing local artists. I love, love, love this store. Eco-friendly is a reality here and you can see from the thoughtful selections, it is not just a bandwagon they jumped on. The displays including thoughtfully arranged rocks-yes rocks-are simple and stunning. The mother is a landscape architect and all of them must have the eye. Somebody else said they wanted to move in to Festivities, I just want them to move into my house. The owners, mother and two daughter trio, are really friendly and accessible. They exude stylishness and accessibility and are very real. Nothing is overdone or over the top here-a melange of hip style, eco-perfect non-strident design that is comfortable but not without attitude-simply what you want in your home. There are things you won't find elsewhere and it is the combination and presentation that you want to make your own. I will be shopping here a long time.

Featured Artist Roger Shurtleff

We are thrilled to feature Seattle artist Roger Shurtleff for this month's art walk Thursday, July 16th from 5-8 pm. Join us for wine, appetizers and a chance to talk with Roger about his work.

Inspired by Northwest Native-American carvings, large scale graffiti, microbiology and ancient petroglyphs, Roger's uses historical and cultural narratives to create vibrant oil paintings of layered abstraction.

Introducting Anne Waters

With over 20 years experience as an artist, Anne has developed her use of watercolor and acrylics to create bold landscapes and strong abstract statements on canvas and glass.  Her work is eclectic and  colorful with layer upon layer of detail.

Featuring Hu Hung-Shu

We are pleased to present the work of Hu Hung-Shu for this month's Art Walk Thursday, May 21st from 5-8 pm.  Join us for wine, appetizers and the chance to see this series of black and white oil paintings which have been exhibited in the United States, Paris, Seoul and Taiwan.

Hu Hungshu

A native of Shanghai, Hu studied architecture at Cheng-Kung University in Taiwan and design at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.  He was head of the design area of the UI School of Art and Art History until his retirement in early 2003.

In his own words, "An Art Historian once stated that Chinese paintings can not be accomplished with Western media and techniques, one must use Chinese brush, Chinese Paper and Chinese Ink to express the Chinese perceptions."

Introducing Timothy Aguero

We are pleased to feature local photographer Timothy Aguero for this month's Art Walk Thursday, March 19th from 5-8 pm.   Join us for wine, appetizers and a chance to meet Tim and learn more about his body of work entitled "Birthday Party."

Longing to use his film camera after five years of shooting digitally, Tim dusted off his Polaroid Land Camera to photograph a childrens party.  Without the bounty of digital memory and with a limited supply of film, Tim returned to the traditional medium of composing, shooting and accepting the flaws that comprise the beauty of each moment.  The result is a breathtaking body of work that is sure to inspire the kid in all of us!

Second Time's A Charm

Featured Artist Juan Alonso

Festivities is featuring established Northwest artist Juan Alonso for the November Art Walk Thursday, 20th from 6-8 pm.  

We are fortunate to bring you his latest body of work known as the "Levitation Series."  Within this series, there are more specific bodies of work, somewhat like a compilation of short stories that revolve around a common theme.  Each of the featured paintings represent several layers of translucent color and acrylic mediums to catch light and create an impression of depth.

Big Ideas In Small Packages

For October Art Walk, we are bringing together multiple artists who are making a name for themselves creating distinctive small works of art. Think edgy sculpture by Matt Timo , mixed media and acrylic art by Lynn Scott, sculptural metalwork by Dorthea King, watermedia painting and prints by Kathy Rinaldi and Chinese calligraphy art by Shiang-Yu Lee.  This is a great opportunity to preview the work of talented NW artists while enjoying appetizers and wine tasting Thursday, October 16th from 5-8 pm.
